Open borders pusher Salvadore "Crackpot Reconquista" Reza led a band of about 75 assorted loonies on a six mile hike on Wednesday, from Pruitt's Furniture to Phoenix City Hall.  They carried the usual "KKK" and "racist" signs, called Sheriff Joe all kinds of unflattering names, and chanted various unintelligible phrases.

They looked like a herd of refugees from a Greyhound Bus station.

It is now clear that their new tactic for sympathy is to claim that they are victims of the same type of discrimination and abuse suffered by blacks earlier in our history.  This is going to be a hard sell to reasonable people.  Eagerly and voluntarily sneaking into a country to gain personal benefit hardly compares to being captured, chained up, and forcibly transported to be permantly enslaved.

About the same number of patriots (an excellent turnout considering most patriots have jobs) were waiting for them at City Hall.  We lit 'em up!  Michelle from Mothers Against Illegal Aliens had her new four hundred dollar bullhorn/boombox with a serious external amplifier, and she is a powerful force.  Buck Young had his own bullhorn and was on the front line all day.  The reslove we displayed should be a meaningful message to the mayor, but then, if he were interested in serving the people as he has sworn to do, he would already know the message and we wouldn't have to be out on the streets insisting that he enforce the law.  We'll see.

Patriot support is growing every day and today we overpowered them with our energy and noise.  We are becoming ever more confident that we can force the City of Phoenix to abandon it's sanctuary policy as we become stronger and go on the offensive.

Among the other groups which were shoulder to shoulder with the American Freedom Riders today were Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, Patriots Border Alliance, Riders Against Illegal Aliens, You Don't Speak for Me, and many individual citizens who have had all they are going to take.

American Freedom Riders and Friends,

The protest against illegal alien laborers having the right to bankrupt legitimate businesses at Pruitt's Furniture on Saturday was supported by a large and vocal crowd of patriots and was very effective. Even though the morning rain prevented a lot of people from attending, the event has to be considered a success. We are gaining momentum and we must continue to apply all necessary pressure to force the elimination of the city's sanctuary policy.

Loyal citizens outnumbered open borders advocates by roughly a 2 to 1 margin and, lining both sides of the street, certainly appeared to be the dominant force to the thousands of vehicles which passed by. Our signs advocated secure borders and law enforcement, while their signs accused us of being intruders in their land, communists, and members of the KKK. In view of the unacceptably high illegal alien crime rate, including murders of police officers, it baffles our minds that Mayor Gordon and Phoenix Police Department upper management would support their demands for unlimited illegal immigration. It is also difficult to understand why we don't have thousands of American patriots joining our protest instead of just hundreds. Eight out of ten citizens agree with us on this issue - why don't they stand up with us?

In view of our dominance on Saturday, it is likely that the opposition will renew its efforts to increase their numbers in the future, and we must do the same. The Thomas Road situation has been simmering for almost two years and the time has come to put an end to it. We are in a position to do so right now if we will just continue to increase our numbers every week. As was evidenced by the presence of a New York Times reporter on Saturday, the national press is beginning to understand that their is a lot at stake here and a victory, by either side, will have have influential and lasting implications far beyond Thomas Road in Phoenix, Arizona.

The American Freedom Riders and friends will be on Thomas Road again this Saturday. We strongly urge all other patriotic groups and loyal citizens who recognize the threat of a sanctuary policy to join us. Change will only come when we force city officials to recognize that their "don't ask - don't tell" position has become untenable. Come and join us. This is a critical issue and we have an uncommon opportunity to really make a difference.

The issue over whose rights are being trampled at Pruitt's Furniture has turned into a battle that Patriots can't afford to lose. The AFR is going to join the protest starting this Saturday.

In case you aren't familiar with the situation, here is a brief summary of what has happened: For a long time now, illegal day laborers have loitered all over the sidewalk and parking lot in front of Pruitt's and other businesses in the area. They have created an third world, unsafe atmosphere which has made retail customers reluctant to approach and the result is, that without immediate relief, continued loss of customers will be force Pruitt's out of business.

In an effort to save his business, the owner of Pruitt's hired off duty Phoenix cops for security, at his own expense, to attempt to keep the illegal workers away from the front of his store. Having to hire security to keep non-english speaking, illegal aliens away from your front door so your customers can get into your store is not an expense any American businessman should have to budget, but it was do that or go under.

Well, the "open borders" advocates didn't like it and they then began protesting in front of the store in large numbers, claiming that their rights were being infringed upon and stating that they would put Pruitt's out of business as punishment. They are protesting that this land is their land, and the legal property owners have no rights whatsoever. All this time the Phoenix police followed their sanctuary policy and did nothing. The Mayor and City Council need a wake up call.

There has been some negotiation and there are more details, but it has been a running battle the whole time and now the situation has reached a tipping point. If patriots in Phoenix are ever going to make it crystal clear that we have had enough, this is the time and place to do it. If we allow illegal aliens to bankrupt legitimate businesses by simply gathering in large numbers and blocking their property to customer access, we have lost this war and the Washington politicians will recognize it and be further empowered to continue their open borders agenda. On the other hand, if we force the city of Phoenix to deal with this issue in favor of Pruitt's, as the law requires, we will send a message to enforce our laws which will be equally powerful.

This confrontation needs to be elevated to national attention, and we need to win. Period. There are many other anti-illegal immigration groups who are responding to this challenge and we are all working together to bring big numbers into this fray.
